More and better information coming to Spoke!

Get ready, changes are coming. Not kidding. Big, exciting changes -- and a lot of them -- are about to hit here at Spoke.

You already know reaching businesspeople can be difficult, to say the least. You also know that Spoke -- with your help -- has made this a lot easier by building the largest network of professional contacts available on the internet. As we have done this our greatest challenge has been keeping up with the wealth of information we are making available to one another through Spoke. The upgrades we’re about to release not only take care of that but add more and better data and make it easier to access than ever before.

The change that will be most apparent is our new, improved look and interface for both our website and membership-only areas. This new look isn’t just chrome: It will let members connect with each other faster. We’ve worked long and hard with designers and usability experts to come up with this and can’t wait to hear what you think.

While that will be the most immediately noticeable change, we know it won’t be the one you like the most. In the battle for better data we’ve devised a way to keep our information as fresh and accurate as possible.  Spoke will now enable you to reach 50% more businesspeople. It’s not just more information, it’s better information too: Most of those contacts will have been updated in the last nine months. That means you’ll have the most recent information on over 55 million professionals and the best tool to find them at your fingertips.

We’ve also added a lot of things you told us you wanted. These things will make Spoke easier to use and help you grow and leverage your professional network. Over the last year we’ve surveyed many of you to find out what you like most about Spoke and what we can do to make your experience using Spoke even better. So thanks to your suggestions we’re rolling out:

  • Easier, more intuitive searching

  • Simpler navigation from one tool in Spoke to the next

  • The ability to see exactly what you’re going to get when you customize your profile

  • More tools to get Spoke information outside of Spoke.com

  • Improvements to existing connection tools like referrals, group connections, and invitations.

As they say on TV, “But wait, that’s not all.”

  • We are also going to be launching the Spoke Ambassador Program. The Ambassadors will be able to raise their personal profiles by being a public voice with other business leaders. They will also have an insider’s role on the development of Spoke’s features. More information about this program and how you can apply will be coming soon.

We really appreciate all the help you’ve given us in making Spoke better. These changes are all a direct result of what you’ve told us you wanted. The Ambassadors program is just the latest example of our commitment to making Spoke what you, our customers, need. So please, don’t stop telling us. We promise to keep asking … and listening.

  1. Please remove my profiles from your site, its quite disturbing
there is absolutely no way i can do it from the site, and my name keeps popping up with a new profile every time i google it.

  2. IDENTITY THEFT IS THE NEW NAME FOR SPOKE.COM
You are so excited about finding ways to reach business contacts, but what you don't know or perhaps you know is that these business contacts are listed in SPOKE.COM with their authorization. I have tried to reach SPOKE.COM multiple times through the snail online request to remove my name from their list, per SPOKE.COM privacy policy, but they have not answered to my request, nor comply to their policy. I have submitted to request to CT general attorney to take a look at the business practices of SPOKE.COM. No word yet, but I will continue to follow up on this privacy invasion of SPOKE.COM.
Why did not SPOKE.COM publish their phone number with extension and their direct email address in public?

  3. Everything sounds interesting, but you didn't tell us when.
When is the Ambassador program starting?

  4. I am disappointed, because I created an account for someone and now it has been deactivated for no apparent reason. It has been impossible to reach a member of the support team, and I have filled out the online support form several time. I am disappointed with the lack of responsiveness, especially since Spoke is such a valuable resource.

  5. Look, I found myself on spoke, listed with a company I have never worked for, but I know those guys and they are pissed too. THERE IS NO WAY TO DELETE MY ACCOUNT! I don't even remember signing up for one! You are the scummiest thing ever.

  6. Can anyone tell me how to uninstall the Spoke toolbar? I have Windows Vista and every time it starts up, I get a message that the Spoke toolbar is incompatible with my version of Vista and it will now uninstall itself, and every freepin time I restart it does exactly the same darn thing.

I want it off my computer and Spoke tech support hasn't bothered to respond to my request for help.

    Can anyone do anything?

    Dan

  8. New, more, better is useless with inaccurate information. I have been trying for more than a year to get Spoke to correct my information to no avail. I am a pretty sophisticated user and I can find no way to change the erroneous information. I have sent reports in a dozen times and have never gotten a response.

This is especially galling as the spoke data comes up near the top in a Google search for my name. Professionally, this is a real liability for me as I am seemingly forever identified with my former employer.

I would pay to have this fixed, but there appears to be no way to contact a real person, even as a paid member.

  10. 4th REQUEST

    PLEASE REMOVE THIS LISTING

The information at this listing is inaccurate and I have no idea where it came from. WeeklyScientist is not a company, it has no employees, it has an unlisted phone number, and I’ve never heard of anyone named Gross Oliver.

  12. Hello,
I have a complaint and unfortunately I have attemped to use your customer support function (4 emails) as stated in previous entries to no avail. I have been charged $1000 for your service on my credit card. I canceled my spoke account last year.
I would greatly appreciate a call from someone in your organization.

  16. I found our company listed on your site. All the information was incorrect so I tried to edit it, which led to a process of completing a personal profile. However, after completing the personal profile I still could not get to the incorrect data for our company. This site is not user friendly.

It makes we wonder how complete and accurate any of the information is on Spoke.

  17. How about a better way to claim our company entries in your site that have bogus information? Our listing has a dozen people that don't work for us, has the wrong location, and has us in lawn and garden supplies as a business category (hint: we are a technology company). When I go to edit our profile, your site throws an error. Wouldn't it be smart to make your application work better as a lead tool first, and get basic functionality down before starting chasing Facebook features?

You guys are doing a great job. I love Spoke.
